We are looking for a warm, energetic, reliable, and motivated Morning Assistant Teacher to join our team. This is a long-term, non-seasonal position for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and wants an opportunity to learn, develop, and grow in the early childhood field.

Schedule

Monday–Friday: Typically 6:20 AM–2:20 PM

Candidates should have reliable weekday availability between approximately 6:20 AM and 3:00 PM, as scheduled start and end times may occasionally vary based on program needs.

This position is part of our morning opening team, so dependable early-morning attendance and punctuality are essential.

Occasional opportunities for additional hours may be available, including extended afternoon coverage, closing shifts, or select Saturdays. Additional availability is appreciated but is not required for the regular Morning Assistant Teacher schedule.

Compensation

$18.00–$19.00 per hour

Actual compensation will depend on experience, education, training, certifications, and other relevant factors.

Who We Serve

Our scholars range from 6 weeks through 12 years old, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and after-school scholars.

Staff may support different age groups based on program needs, ratios, and scheduling.

What You’ll Do

As a Morning Assistant Teacher, you will help create a warm, organized, engaging, and positive start to each day. Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and opening the classroom for the day
• Warmly and professionally greeting scholars and families
• Supporting breakfast, feeding, diapering, toileting, and daily transitions
• Creating and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities using our curriculum framework, with training, support, feedback, and guidance provided
• Assisting with Circle Time, sensory activities, learning centers, creative projects, story time, and movement experiences
• Preparing classroom materials and learning activities
• Supervising scholars during indoor and outdoor activities
• Sharing classroom moments and photo updates through Brightwheel
• Supporting a nurturing and engaging learning environment across age groups
• Cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing the classroom throughout the day
• Helping maintain a safe, welcoming, organized, and inspection-ready environment
• Following daily routines, procedures, checklists, and program expectations with attention to detail
• Working collaboratively with the teaching team and supporting different age groups as needed

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience working with young children preferred
• Excellent reliability, punctuality, and attendance, particularly for early-morning shifts
• Warm, positive, energetic, and professional communication style
• Comfortable working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and mixed-age groups
• Comfortable working within structured routines and as part of a team
• Ability to follow procedures and complete assigned responsibilities independently
• Willingness to assist with cleaning, sanitizing, organization, and maintaining a high-quality learning environment
• Tech-friendly; training provided
• Open to coaching, constructive feedback, professional development, and continued learning
• Ability to complete all required childcare paperwork and trainings

A CDA Credential, early childhood coursework, or previous childcare experience is a plus, but not required.

Candidates should have a genuine interest in professional growth. Team members interested in earning their Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential can receive support and guidance through our program.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on childcare position. Employees must be able to stand, bend, squat, kneel, participate in indoor and outdoor activities, and lift children or classroom materials up to approximately 40 lbs.

Our two-part interview process gives candidates an opportunity to learn more about our program and show us what they can bring to the team.

Selected candidates will complete our  paid New Hire Orientation and Training Program before beginning their regular schedule. Orientation dates and times may vary and may include weekend sessions.
