Commercial Litigation Paralegal

Whitecap Search is seeking a skilled litigation paralegal for a temp-to-perm position at a busy law firm in Bergen County, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial litigation, with additional experience in family law being a plus. This role involves supporting attorneys throughout all stages of litigation, conducting research, managing case files, and providing various administrative support tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with all aspects of litigation from case inception through trial
• Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and correspondence
• Manage case files, calendars, deadlines, and court scheduling
• Coordinate and prepare discovery materials, document productions, and exhibits
• Conduct legal and factual research
• Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, and vendors
• Prepare deposition summaries and trial notebooks
• Assist with trial preparation, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
• Maintain billing time entries and provide administrative litigation support

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Paralegal certificate preferred
• 3 years of litigation experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures and filing systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal management software
• Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Experience with document management and e-filing systems required
• Hybrid/remote flexibility based on business needs
• Fast-paced, collaborative legal environment
