Field Access Manager - Ohio Valley

Merck seeks a Field Access Manager to serve as a subject-matter expert on healthcare access and reimbursement issues across the Ohio Valley region. The role combines remote work with field-based engagement, supporting healthcare providers and organizations with benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, and patient assistance program information while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide education to healthcare providers on patient access, benefit verification, prior authorization, and appeals processes
• Analyze access trends and identify barriers to patient access across payer types
• Coordinate cross-functionally with field sales, marketing, market access, and specialty pharmacy on access issues
• Maintain expertise on regional and national payer coverage policies and communicate policy changes to providers
• Educate healthcare offices on product hub programs, financial assistance, and patient support resources

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 7 years in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales, operations, or reimbursement
• Strong knowledge of Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and access processes
• Expertise in pharmaceutical compliance and HIPAA regulations
• Understanding of hub and patient support activities
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; ability to travel 20-25%
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders
