Cardboard Sort Associate Seasonal Position

This seasonal opportunity through 12/20/2026 is a great way to get your foot in the door at the REI Co-op. Schedule is Friday/Saturday/Sunday 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM through 12/20/2026.

Pay rate will be $18/hr + shift differential.

Shift Differential: 4th shift employees receive an additional 10% shift differential on their base hourly rate for all hours worked.

For example, a base rate of $18.00/hour would increase to $19.80/hour while working 4th shift.

Our team is seeking Cardboard Sort Associates to aid our recycling program in order to help us create better outdoor experiences by ensuring that REI's standards are properly applied and maintained in our Distribution Center. This will be an approximate 3-month assignment with opportunities to apply and advance into full time/part time permanent positions here at the co-op!

Responsibilities and Qualifications

How you will be successful:

• Safely handle product, specifically, but not limited to, sorting cardboard being returned from our retail stores, and Distribution Center equipment.
• Able to lift and shift boxes weighing an average of 20 to 30 pounds with a maximum of 65 pounds throughout a full shift of work.
• Able to work standing or walking on concrete floors for your whole shift.
• Work well in a team-based environment while staying focused on task at hand.
• Flexible, with the ability to navigate different departments based on the business need.
• Easy to navigate directions and feedback to and from others.
• Attention to detail in all tasks and assignments.
• Work efficiently and safely by setting practical goals, establishing priorities, and producing to standard.
