Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionIFS Industries is seeking a motivated and dependable Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Reading facility. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and completing repairs to minimize downtime and support efficient production operations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, industrial maintenance experience, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.Candidates must be willing to work the assigned shift, overtime as needed, and support operational requirements during peak production periods.Work Schedule:2nd Shift- Mon-Fri, 3pm-11pm3rd Shift- Sun-Thu, 11pm-7amResponsibilities and Essential Duties:Perform monthly preventive maintenance tasks on production equipment.Troubleshoot and repair electric and pneumatic pumps.Repair and rebuild diaphragm pumps ranging from 3⁄4" to 3" in size.Replace mechanical seals in centrifugal pumps.Repair and rebuild gear pumps.Perform pump shaft alignment.Conduct minor electrical troubleshooting and repairs.Complete general facility upkeep and routine maintenance repairs.Perform welding and metal fabrication work as needed (MIG, TIG, Stick welding, torch, and plasma cutting experience preferred).Complete projects and work orders with minimal supervision.Create, update, and close work orders using a web-based maintenance management system.Respond to maintenance issues during scheduled on-call rotations.Technical Skills Required :Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Good organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.Experience with Allen-Bradley drives and PLC troubleshooting preferred.Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment.Ability to work independently while maintaining high performance standards.Ability to work overtime as needed.Ability to participate in an after-hours and weekend on-call rotation.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCERequired:High School Diploma or GED.3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.Preferred Skills:Technical school or trade certification.Experience with Allen-Bradley drives and PLCs.Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, and electrical troubleshooting.Welding and fabrication experience.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to read reports, maintenance documentation, and use a computer.Must be able to hear and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.Stand/Walk - Must be able to stand for extended periods while performing equipment repairs and walk throughout the facility to complete maintenance activities.Climbing/Bending/Kneeling- Must be able to perform maintenance activities that require climbing, bending, stooping, and kneeling.Lift/Push/Pull - Must be able to routinely lift and move 50+ pounds.Dexterity/Grasping/Feeling - Must be able to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.Heavy Work:Routinely exerting 50+ pounds of force.Work EnvironmentMust follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.May be exposed to varying temperatures and outdoor conditions while performing facility maintenance.PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTSAll applicants must successfully pass an interview, background check, and drug/alcohol screening.IFS Industries is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity in the workplace.\nCompany DescriptionIFS Industries is a trusted global manufacturer of high-performance adhesives, coatings, and specialty polymer solutions, delivering innovative products that power industries worldwide.Company DescriptionIFS Industries is a trusted global manufacturer of high-performance adhesives, coatings, and specialty polymer solutions, delivering innovative products that power industries worldwide.
