Our organization is looking for an OB Hospitalist to become part of our team in the picturesque town of Culpeper, Virginia.

We are in search of a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible OB/GYN Hospitalist to enhance our dedicated OB/GYN program. This position is tailored for physicians who favor hospital-based obstetric care , enjoy predictable work schedules, and prioritize patient safety, teamwork, and a healthy work-life balance. We are open to discussing site locations and full-time equivalent (FTE) preferences.

Position Overview:

This role is a hospital-based OB/GYN position that focuses solely on inpatient obstetric and urgent gynecologic care. The laborist will provide 24-hour in-house coverage for Labor & Delivery, catering to unassigned patients, emergency department consultations, and inpatient obstetric requirements.

The structure of this model is intentionally designed to enhance patient outcomes, support nursing and multidisciplinary teams, and alleviate the call burden for community-based OB/GYN practitioners.

Clinical Responsibilities & Coverage Model:

  • Provide in-house Labor & Delivery coverage during assigned shifts.

  • Manage labor, delivery, and postpartum care for unassigned and urgent patients.

  • Perform vaginal and cesarean deliveries.

  • Respond to obstetric emergencies and rapid response situations.

  • Offer emergency gynecologic consultations and procedures as necessary.

  • Work closely with outpatient OB/GYNs to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of care.

  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and standardized obstetric protocols.

  • Shift-based model with openness to discussions regarding hybrid inpatient/outpatient responsibilities, if desired.

Hospital-Based Resources:

  • 24-hour in-house anesthesia services.

  • Level III NICU with robust neonatal and maternal support.

  • DaVinci robotic surgical system.

  • Advanced critical care and interventional radiology support.

  • Strong collaboration with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM), including ultrasound interpretation and high-risk consultations.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

  • Eligible for medical licensure and DEA certification in Virginia.

  • Comfortable managing high-acuity obstetric care and emergencies.

  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to team-based care.

  • Interest in patient safety, standardized care, and hospital-based practice.

  • Open to both experienced physicians and recent graduates with strong obstetric training.

The base salary range for this position is $328,452 - $389,017 for a 1.0 clinical FTE status. Individual compensation will be based on fair market value and the qualifications, clinical experience, specialty training, credentials, and education of the selected candidate. Please note that this pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs, such as productivity, quality, non-productivity, or other incentives that may be available for eligible roles.
