About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, Every Other Weekend Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Strong Med Surg experience - Ability to float between units Description: This position involves primarily working in the Progressive Care Unit, with the expectation of floating to the Intensive Care Unit as needed. Candidates should not have been employed full-time, part-time, or in any capacity with the affiliated facilities within the past year. During the assignment, travelers may be required to float between multiple facilities within the designated region. There is a rate differential for floating outside the primary facility. Nurses will be responsible for providing care to critical care patients. The nurse to patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 in the ICU, and 1:3 in the PCU. There will be a charge nurse present on each floor. Nurse aides will be available on each floor. Weekend shifts will include rotating duties on Saturdays and Sundays. Holiday work will also be required, rotating with permanent staff. There are no specific scrub color requirements. Telemetry monitoring is available only in the Progressive Care Unit. Standard medications and drips include non-pressor medications such as Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin. Ventilator management is required in the ICU but is not performed in the PCU. Strong candidates should be able to demonstrate experience that may include invasive monitoring or critical care procedures if applicable. Travelers are expected to have experience in critical situations and be able to provide high-quality care. There is a cancellation policy in place that allows for shift cancellations. The charting system utilized is electronic and fully integrated.
