Underwriting Analyst
You'll review individual property and casualty insurance applications and help decide whether to accept, change, or decline the risk. You'll look at details like property value, location, use, and safety features. You'll work closely with field teams to gather the facts you need and support your decisions. This role has no assigned production goals, so you can focus on careful underwriting and service. You may also help a Senior Underwriter with account service and management.
You'll use clear facts to make fair underwriting decisions on standard and substandard risks. You'll talk with field partners often so you can get the details you need and explain your thinking with confidence. You'll help keep accounts moving by supporting service work when needed, and you'll step in to help a Senior Underwriter with account management tasks.
Here's what you'll bring to the role:
- You can review property and casualty applications and make risk decisions based on facts.
- You can look at property value, location, use, and safety features when you assess a risk.
- You can gather information from field teams and use it to support your decision.
- You can explain underwriting decisions clearly in writing and in conversation.
- You can help with account service and account management when needed.
Required: Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office. Detail oriented; strong analytical skills and good communication and interpersonal skills
