Sr. Product Manager, QoS & Performance

Salary: $151,600 - 151,600 per year Requirements:

• Experience owning or driving product roadmap strategy and definition
• Experience contributing to engineering discussions about technology decisions and product strategy
• Experience representing and advocating for diverse customer and stakeholder needs in executive-level prioritization and planning
• Experience defining and managing SLAs or SLOs for networking or cloud services
• Strong knowledge of network performance fundamentals, including IP DSCP, L2 CoS, traffic classification and marking, shaping, queuing disciplines, fair queueing, CoDel, WRED, and bufferbloat
• Track record of producing technical requirements, PRFAQs, or product specifications
• Preferred: Experience communicating with varied stakeholders, including colleagues and leadership, or using data analytics and metrics to identify problems
• Preferred: Experience collaborating across teams and influencing teams outside your own
• Preferred: Experience with satellite communications, LEO networking, or space-based systems
• Preferred: Experience in a customer-facing technical product role at a cloud provider or telecommunications company
• Preferred: Familiarity with AWS networking services such as Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, and VPC, and with enterprise hybrid networks
• Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, a U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted to the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

• Own our end-to-end product strategy for Leo network performance and QoS, including traffic classification, prioritization, shaping, and congestion management
• Establish the performance metrics framework, including SLAs, SLOs, and KPIs for throughput, latency, jitter, and packet loss
• Partner with Principal Engineers and SDEs to prioritize and implement performance features and enforcement mechanisms across satellite, ground gateway, and SDN layers
• Write PRFAQs, technical narratives, and requirements documents to secure resources and align leadership on our roadmap
• Gather customer performance needs with sales, demand management, and capacity management teams, and translate them into product features
• Define acceptance criteria and performance gates to verify QoS compliance before customer-facing releases
• Work with Beam Planning, SDN, and Satellite Operations teams to optimize resource allocation and reduce latency, packet loss, and congestion across the constellation
• Review performance dashboards, analyze network trends and congestion events, and bring findings to engineering discussions
• Evaluate traffic-shaping approaches and propose controlled tests to validate their effects
• Explain our QoS, service tiers, SLA commitments, and telemetry to enterprise customers
• Develop product plans for capabilities such as dynamic bandwidth allocation, collaborating with engineering and business partners on technical and financial considerations
