Staff Accountant

Job Summary: The Accountant prepares, analyzes and reviews financial statements using accounting principles in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and enterprise allocation methods. Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. Finance degree: successful completion of Intermediate Accounting I & II required. Licensing/Certification: CPA preferred. Experience: Minimum three (3) years' accounting experience, or applicable Master’s in a related field with minimum one (1) year of experience. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Assist in special projects, as directed. Assist with financial reporting audits, working with internal audits, the Arkansas Insurance Department, independent auditors, and/or Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. Perform advanced accounting functions, including preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, accounting analysis and reconciliation. Perform other duties as assigned. Prepare supporting financial data as required. Reconcile, confirm, and maintain general ledger accounts.
