Asset ManagerHouston TX | CommercialAt Talen Energy Talen Energy is currently seeking a Asset Manager to join our Commercial team in the Houston, TX office to support Commercial Operations for our PJM fleet.The Asset Management Desk is responsible for purchasing and selling wholesale energy and scheduling generation to meet energy delivery obligations in the Day-Ahead and Real-Time markets for which our assets are located.How You’ll Power the FutureAt Talen Energy, your work directly supports safe, reliable power generation. In this role, you’ll move beyond day‑to‑day contributions to drive meaningful change by:Develop and execute asset dispatch strategies within a portfolio of generating assetsServe as point of contact for plant operations and external Energy Manager to communicate operational and market conditions including properly documenting asset availability and limitationsWork as team member within Talen Commercial to explain results to Sr. Management.Create and facilitate processes across internal groups at Talen to comply with ISO requirements including:Fuel Cost Policy submissions and managementCost and Price curve development and submissionEnsure compliance with ISO requirements in Capacity and Energy marketsCoordinate with Risk and Operations to manage unit parameters in ISO submissions and internal modelingField data requests and inquiries from ISO and regulatory bodies and coordinate responsesWhat You HaveDegree in Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics preferredMinimum 3 years of energy market experience optimizing generating assets and dispatching power plants in PJM is requiredExpert understanding of rules/regulations/requirements for compliance with ISO standardsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsCertified Generation Operator certificate preferredWhy Talen Energy?Power the FutureTalen Energy is one of the largest competitive energy and power generation companies in North America.
