Retail Fuel Technician

The Retail Fuel Technician performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on fuel dispensing equipment, storage tanks, monitoring systems, POS equipment, and DVR systems. Conducts inspections, responds to spills and system issues, ensures regulatory compliance, and assists with snow removal as needed.

7:00am - 3:00pm

What Does a Retail Fuel Technician Do?

• Performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of fuel dispensing equipment, underground storage tanks and fuel dispensing software.
• Troubleshoots and repairs such equipment as submersible pumps, nozzles, hoses, tank monitoring equipment (sensors, probes) and fuel dispensing computer systems.
• Performs monthly inspections of all fuel service locations to ensure the proper environmental controls are in place; monitors and tests the grounds and surrounding areas for possible environmental contamination.
• Investigates environmental issues and responds promptly to fuel spills and leak detection alarms.
• Responds to system crashes and assists in bringing locations back on line with minimal downtime and loss of revenue.
• Assists the senior technician with installations of new store POS equipment.
• Maintains the DVR system.
• Maintains up-to-date manuals on fueling systems, bulk tank regulations and other guidelines; ensures Nation enterprises meet or exceed such guidelines.
• Assists with snow removal as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Experience:

To be successful as a Retail Fuel Technician, you'll need:

• Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Management or a related field is required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Must have a minimum of five years management experience in a convenience store setting.
• Must have the ability to work a schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays as required.
• Previous experience with centralized price book and/or invoicing procedures required.
• Must have knowledge of fundamental management functions such as planning, organizing, directing, controlling and successful negotiation.
• Knowledge of personnel management practices and principles is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Must have the ability to interpret, explain, and administer store policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 41 - 50 pounds.
