Advanced Practice ProviderThis position is responsible for provision of Advanced Practice Provider services to patients in an outpatient and inpatient setting. The position will work as part of a care team at both the UNLV Health outpatient clinic as well as Inpatient hospital settings. Our patient care model includes faculty, residents, and students.Advantages of Working for UNLV HealthClinic Hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM! (Depending on Position)3% 401K Contribution, even if you do not contribute!Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits that start the first of the month following your start date!CPR Certifications reimbursed by UNLV Health!Pay may be higher than listed range, based on years of experience.And more!Educational RequirementsGraduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degreeLicense in the State of Nevada as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or ability to be licensed prior to the start dateBilingual (English and Spanish) is preferredMajor ResponsibilitiesWorks in conjunction with Physicians, administrative management, nursing and other interprofessional team members to facilitate patient care and management throughout the health care systemExercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of medical processes and procedures commensurate with training and experiencePerforms and documents comprehensive health histories and physical assessments, to include initiation of CPR or other appropriate emergency therapy as neededFormulates diagnoses, identifies problems and health risk profiles, documents and clearly communicates with other members of the health care teamPerforms, orders, and interprets diagnostic studies, such as x-rays and laboratory tests, in consultation with peers and colleaguesAssumes a proactive role in patient/family education and patient/family satisfaction in the practice settingAssumes personal accountability to enhance the patient experience by using high quality, patient satisfaction-directed interactions/tools/activities in the execution of dutiesAlways interacts with patients and families in a compassionate and respectful manner, at all timesParticipates in training of staff, students, and residents; and as requested by Department Chair, Pediatric Surgery Division Chief, supervisors, mentors, and provides education on areas of expertisePhysical RequirementsMay include standing, sitting, and/or walking for extended periodsMay include performing repetitive tasksMay include working with challenging patients and clientsMay include lifting up to 25 poundsUNLV Health will provide equal opportunity employment to all employees and applicants for employment.
