Position Title Security Officer Full Time Campus Patrol Driver – Stony Brook, NY Position Type Full Time Pay Rate $18.36 / Hour Job Schedule Mon: 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM Tue: 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM Wed: 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM Thur: 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM Sun: 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM What You’ll Do Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access protocols, and appropriate emergency response activities. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem‑solving manner, while documenting security‑related concerns according to site expectations. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and/or report unusual conditions. Monitor entrances, exits, and high‑traffic areas to help support authorized access, visitor management, and adherence to location policies. Communicate with school personnel, first responders, and/or Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, maintenance concerns, and other security‑related matters observed during assigned shifts. Minimum Requirements A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred. Alarm panel experience is preferred. A guard card/license is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
