Working with a modern technology stack that includes Python, FastAPI, MongoDB, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes, you will help deliver scalable systems that support complex healthcare workflows. In this role, you will also leverage enterprise-approved AI tools and platforms to automate engineering processes, streamline workflows, and build intelligent capabilities into enterprise-scale solutions.Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deploy scalable backend services and microservices using Python and FastAPIBuild event-driven architectures with Apache Kafka and manage data persistence using MongoDBContainerize applications using Docker and deploy, maintain, and monitor workloads in Kubernetes environmentsEstablish, maintain, and optimize automated CI/CD workflows using GitHub and GitHub ActionsDesign, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions and automation capabilities to address complex business challenges with an emphasis on responsible use of AIUse enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate software engineering tasks, and drive continuous operational improvementEvaluate emerging technical trends and AI capabilities to inform solution design and drive strategic innovationCollaborate with cross-functional development teams, participate in code reviews, and contribute to software design and architecture discussionsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications1 years of software development experience1 years of experience building backend applications or microservices using Python1 years of experience with RESTful API development using frameworks such as FastAPI1 years of experience with version control and automated workflows using GitHub and GitHub Actions1 years of experience containerizing applications using Docker1+ years of experience working with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related fieldExperience with container orchestration and management using KubernetesExperience with event streaming or messaging architectures using Apache KafkaExperience designing, building, and deploying cloud-native applicationsKnowledge of responsible AI practices, prompt engineering, or integrating machine learning/AI models into production environmentsDemonstrated experience utilizing AI tools or techniques to automate tasks, improve workflow efficiency, or build application features*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as,a comprehensive benefits packageincentive and recognition programsequity stock purchase401k contributionNo matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives.The salary for this role will range from $60,200 to $107,400 annually based on full-time employment.
