Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of experience and telemetry/cardiac monitoring skills.

Job Details

• 32-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with an average daily census of 21 patients,
• Adult to geriatric patient population,
• Unit admits patients from CICU, MSICU, acute care floors, and the ED,
• Cares for post-op CABG, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients,
• Manages respiratory failure with multiple treatment modalities excluding invasive mechanical ventilation,
• Treats cardiac arrhythmias, DKA, GI bleed, trauma, CVA, seizures, CIWA, metabolic disorders, renal failure, GI disorders, hypertensive emergency, sepsis, and neuro disorders,
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4,
• Uses Epic EMR, Pyxis, SBAR, AirVo, BiPAP, and CPAP,
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM,
• Works every other weekend unless otherwise specified,
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed,
• No on-call requirements,

Job Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required,
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required,
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias,
• First-time travelers accepted,

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and progressive care nursing across a wide range of acute conditions,
• Navy blue scrubs required,
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract,
• Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall within the assignment period, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day,
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate,
• Previous Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler,
• Travelers previously cancelled or DNR'd by Piedmont must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
