Therapist

Title: Therapist Job Type: Part time Location: 6902 South Peek Road in Richmond, Texas Schedule: 3 days/week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 12-8 pm (some availability 8 am-4 pm when needed) How you'll contribute: Provide psychotherapy and counseling therapies, including group, individual and family therapy for patients suffering from psychiatric and substance abuse issues. Ensure accurate and timely patient documentation. Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients on psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems. Actively participate in treatment planning, discharge, transition, and after-care planning processes. Provide family session counseling as therapeutically necessary to involve family members and support groups. Support vital and Unscheduled Drug Screening (UDS) capture as needed. Communicate proactively with clients, families, and outside referral sources, functioning within HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and document all correspondence. Collaborate consistently with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review, and nursing staff. Communicate with Utilization Review (UR) on treatment and Length of Stay (LOS) issues, supporting UR functions/authorizations/denials as needed. Complete appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate, and complete manner. Complete required assessment paperwork, including patient assessment scales, Columbia, psychosocial/LOC assessments (as applicable), psychosocial/LOC updates, and assigned assessment paperwork. Demonstrate appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills; act as a team member during crises to ensure patient safety. Enact the code system per company policy and training. Complete accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills and assist the care coordination department as requested. Complete all documentation thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital/facility standards. Show a thorough knowledge of confidentiality, complete releases appropriately, and demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations. Maintain working knowledge of all clinical regulations, including TJC/CARF (as applicable), Medicaid, and state and federal laws. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Qualifications and Requirements: Education: Master's degree in social work or counseling or relevant state licensure required. Experience: Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients. License: Current unencumbered clinical license per state of practice guidelines.
