In this role you will provide leadership and oversight to assigned group of medical assistants. Competitive salary, annual merit increases, plus room for growth and career advancement.Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupports a provider or providers for 100% of their day, unless otherwise assigned by their supervisor.Collaborates with providers and nurses in the delivery of patient care.Provides direct patient care that is typical and within the scope of a medical assistant.Assigns and monitors duties and responsibilities of Medical Assistants. Fairly balances staff and clinic needs.Performs regular scheduled performance evaluations and 1:1 meetings with Medical Assistants.Partners with HCO Director on crucial conversations with their teamParticipates in the development and implementation of individual, group and community education programs.EducationHigh School Diploma required.Two or more years’ experience as an MA required.At least one year of MA experience at Erie highly preferredSuccessful completion of Medical Assistant program requiredCertified or Registered by accredited agency preferred.Skills and KnowledgeBilingual (Spanish) dependent on site and the patients served on that site preferred. (May be required to communicate with and assist non-English/Spanish only speaking patients and/or guests.)CPR Certification – must be current at all timesAbility to effectively assess new and existing staff skills and competencies, identify gaps and conduct necessary training.Ability to create/update standards that are measurable and objective and that can be used to track performance of medical assistant functions.Ability to utilize clinical systems, reports and data to monitor effectiveness of staff, equipment and processes.Ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing with individuals and groups.Ability to multitask and maintain a high level of organization for each task.Phlebotomy skills for adults, infants, and childrenBasic knowledge of pharmacology required for the scope of practice.Computer skills including ability to accurately enter health information into an electronic medical record #J-18808-Ljbffr Erie Family Health Center
