APD Anesthesia LLC is growing and seeking a Dental Assistant/ Surgical Assistant for our Mechanicsburg Office.

The surgical dental assistant works closely with providers, the clinical leadership team, and staff to maintain high standards of patient care, organization, and professionalism.

Responsibilities Include:

• Discuss treatment plans, general anesthesia procedures, and hospital cases with patients and parents, ensuring they understand the recommended treatment and answering questions within the scope of the position.
• Coordinate and schedule surgical assistants for hospital and general anesthesia cases.
• Prepare patient charts, treatment documentation, consent forms, and required materials for general anesthesia and hospital procedures.
• Assist the doctor during surgical procedures and maintain a sterile, organized treatment environment.
• Ensure all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are prepared prior to surgical appointments.
• Coordinate with surgical coordinators to ensure all required documentation is completed and submitted.
• Review patient records for completeness and verify that all pre-operative requirements have been met by the surgical coordinators.
• Provide post-operative instructions to patients and parents as directed by the doctor.
• Assist with patient flow before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the patient's electronic health record.
• Communicate effectively with doctors, clinical staff, and administrative team members to ensure continuity of patient care.
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and office safety protocols.
• Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

• Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgical or dental office required.
• Dental X-ray certification preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
