Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nights RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring an active IL RN license and 2+ years of PCU experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
• Cares for a wide variety of cardiac and respiratory patients with fluctuating acuity
• 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
• Night shift,
• Required to work every other weekend and holidays
• 13-week assignment
• No on-call requirements
• Overtime available for those who want it
• Block schedules cannot be guaranteed but preferred schedules will be accommodated when possible

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• PCU experience required

Additional Information

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Provide patient and family education and instructions
• Use clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records
• Participate in continuing education
• Supportive and collaborative department culture
• Manager is easily accessible and visible to night shift staff at least twice per week
