Join the University of Maryland Capital Region Health Operating Room team as a Full-Time Evening Shift Registered Nurse (RN). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Operating Room RN to bring your clinical expertise to a high-performing surgical team committed to safe, exceptional patient care.

In this role, you will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary teams to support high-quality surgical outcomes and an exceptional patient experience. This position is ideal for an experienced Operating Room RN who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and is confident providing perioperative care across a diverse range of surgical specialties.

SCHEDULE: 4 x 10-Hour Shifts | 12:45 p.m. - 11:15 p.m. | Rotating Weekends & Holidays

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver independent, high-quality perioperative care across a broad range of surgical cases; anticipate needs, prioritize effectively, and drive safe, efficient case flow.

Function as the primary circulating RN; maintain full accountability for patient safety, clinical outcomes, and continuity of care throughout the surgical episode.

Coordinate seamlessly with surgeons, anesthesia, and the interdisciplinary team; ensure alignment on case progression, patient status, and intraoperative needs.

Apply evidence-based practice in real time; serve as a clinical resource and escalation point for complex or high-acuity situations.

Champion Patient and Family Centered Care; identify gaps, elevate concerns, and drive measurable improvement.

Contribute directly to quality outcomes through NSQI participation, effective handoff practices, and strict medication safety standards.

Lead and support performance improvement, evidence-based practice, and unit-level initiatives that enhance surgical outcomes and workflow efficiency.

Maintain full regulatory compliance; support audit readiness and uphold all clinical, safety, and documentation standards.

Perform other duties as assigned.

LICENSURE & EXPERIENCE:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maryland or Compact eligibility in accordance with MBON required.
• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Minimum of 23 years of Operating Room RN experience, required.
• Proven ability to independently circulate surgical cases in a fast-paced OR environment, required.
• Experience supporting a range of procedures including general, orthopedic, and specialty cases strongly preferred.
• Trauma experience preferred.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

COMPENSATION:

Pay Range: $43.30 - $54.90 per hour.
