Quality Supervisor

Quality Supervisor/EngineerPebble is looking for a driven, hands-on Quality Supervisor/Engineer to lead our internal quality inspection team and own quality across incoming, in-process, and outgoing production at our Fremont final assembly facility. This role is central to our "Zero Defects" philosophy — you'll build the documentation and processes that make quality repeatable, act as the day-to-day quality voice with our contract manufacturer in China, and make sure defects get caught, understood, and pushed upstream before they can recur.Position Responsibilities:Lead and drive the internal quality inspection team, setting daily priorities and holding the team accountable to inspection standards across IQC, IPQC, OQC, and End-of-Line (EOL).Create, maintain, and continuously improve quality process documents, work instructions, and inspection criteria so standards are clear, current, and consistently followed.Author and post quality alerts to flag emerging defects, contain nonconforming material, and drive fast awareness across the inspection team and cross-functional stakeholders.Serve as a primary quality point of contact with our contract manufacturer (CM) in China — communicating defect findings, corrective action expectations, and process changes, and following up to confirm containment and resolution.Support and actively participate in global quality meetings and calls (including with the China-based CM), representing Fremont's quality data and driving alignment on root cause and corrective actions.Push quality defects upstream — partnering with Supplier Quality, Engineering, and the CM to ensure issues found downstream are traced back to their source and resolved at the root, not just contained.Define sampling procedures and establish processes for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data, including Statistical Process Control (SPC).Lead and participate in Root Cause Analyses (CAPA) for internal and external issues using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa.Collaborate with project teams to define quality controls that comply with company-specific requirements.Proactively identify and implement design, process, and equipment improvements to mitigate quality issues and drive customer satisfaction.Support organizational initiatives related to safety, quality, productivity, and cost optimization.Manage projects with minimal oversight, including complex technology developments.Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities Required:Bachelor's degree in engineering, or at least 3+ years of experience as a Quality Control Engineer/Supervisor.2+ years of quality experience in a production environment.Demonstrated experience leading or supervising an inspection or quality team.Experience writing quality process documentation, work instructions, or quality alerts.Experience working directly with contract manufacturers or suppliers, ideally in China or other overseas manufacturing locations; comfortable communicating across time zones and, ideally, cultures.Mechanical manufacturing methods, procedures, and quality.Time management and prioritization abilities.Core Tools (FMEA, SPC).Root Cause Analysis (8D's, 5-Why, Ishikawa).GD&T, drawing reading.Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting quality data in global cross-functional meetings.Work Environment and Physical Requirements:Manufacturing Environment Requires walking, standing, bending, and lifting for long periods of timeVision abilities required to validate and enter data on computerMay require occasional early/late calls to coordinate with overseas contract manufacturing partnersSalary/Benefits: Healthcare, Dental, Vision, 401k, Unlimited Paid Vacation Policy $102,000—$140,000 USD
