Discover Your Career at Emory University The Department of Orthopaedics at the Emory University School of Medicine is seeking an Internal Medicine physician to join our expanding Medical Optimization Clinic. This is an outpatient-based role, functioning as a preoperative Internal Medicine consultant, focused on optimizing patients prior to surgical intervention. Our mission is to partner with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, comprehensive, and evidence-based medical optimization and preoperative assessment for patients undergoing surgery at Emory University Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital. This physician will practice with a high degree of autonomy while also collaborating closely with colleagues across multiple specialties to ensure patients are appropriately optimized prior to surgery. Ideal candidates will have a background in Hospital Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Perioperative Services. Strong Chief Residents and new graduates with a demonstrated interest in perioperative care will also be considered. The role offers opportunities for career growth and involvement in program development, as well as the ability to supervise and mentor Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Physician will attend to the needs of all patients within the scope of licensing, training and credentialing. Attend to the medical needs of all patients by performing patient care activities to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a Physician and assist in generating adequate practice volume. The Physician will participate in on-call duties and actively participate in meetings and committees. Practice medicine within the current scope of national patient safety goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a Doctor of Medicine Degree (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree (D.O.). Must hold a valid and unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia. Board Eligible or Board Certified preferred. Hold a valid DEA certificate without restriction. Experience in outpatient medical practice preferred.Excellent interpersonal skills required. Must be computer literate.
