Behavioral Health Admissions Coordinator

Behavioral Health Admissions Coordinator Internal Job Under the director of the Social Work Manager for the Psychiatry Department, is responsible for responding to inquiry calls from patients, family members, referral sources and facilitating an appropriate disposition, which may include admission to the inpatient psychiatric program at Valleywise Health or referral to other programs and services. The position works closely with nursing, physicians, patient registration, legal services and payor representatives. Hourly Pay Range: $29.20 — $43.07 Qualifications Education Requires a master’s degree in social work or a related field. Experience Must have a minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience as a social worker in a behavioral health facility that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Pursuant to Arizona Administrative Code R9-10-306 CHAPTER 10 of the Dept. of Health Services, personnel must be at least 21 years of age, or at least 18 years of ageand licensed or certified under A.R.S. Title 32 and providing services within the personnel member’s scope of practice. Certification/Licensure Prefer LMSW or LCSW licensure through the AZ Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. Requires a BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training within three months. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English. Must be familiar with inpatient behavioral health admission criteriaand the court-ordered process for mental health treatment in the State of Arizona.
