Plasma Center Nurse- LPN

Job Description Position: Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) Employment Type: Full time, Regular Employee Location: USA – TX – Fort Worth About the Role As a Medical Support Specialist, you will support plasma center operations by determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager or Assistant Manager for operational matters and under the Center Physician for medical issues. Your role requires familiarity with plasma collection regulations and compliance with BioLife’s medical and safety standards. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and manage medical emergencies per SOP guidelines. Follow Center Physician standing orders and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities. Communicate unacceptable findings to donors and provide guidance on medical or technical issues. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health evaluation. Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, investigating pandemic threats within the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; preferred graduate diploma from a recognized nursing program meeting state requirements. Current state license or certification (LPN or LVN). Current CPR and AED certification. Compliance with state IV therapy requirements. Completion of FDA‑approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Actual wage offered will consider qualifications, experience, and location, and will meet applicable minimum wage requirements.
