Guitar Department Office Assistant

Guitar Department Office Assistants work in the Guitar Office in 921 Boylston St. and report to the Guitar Department Coordinator and Senior Coordinator. This position is for the Fall 2026 semester with the potential to continue employment in future semesters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Guitar Department Office Assistant will primarily assist with departmental tasks such as:

• Serve as a greeter/receptionist
• Respond to office phone calls and manage emails sent to the Guitar Department inbox
• Help with general office operations including keeping files, entering and retrieving data, organizing office supplies, checking mail, and photocopying
• Assist the Chair, Assistant Chair, Coordinators, and faculty with various projects
• Daily inventory of the Guitar Library
• Oversee and manage the Faculty Lab/Room signout documents
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Self-motivated and conscientious worker
• Excellent communication/people skills
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently
• Experience with Google Apps (Mail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, etc.)
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
