Yard Technician

If you enjoy hands‑on work, operating equipment, and being part of a reliable, supportive crew, this Yard Technician role is a strong fit. You’ll help maintain, clean, and prepare equipment that customers rely on every day—making you an essential part of the operation.

• Operate yard equipment including Mini Excavators, Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts, Forklifts, and Skidsteers
• Refuel and stage equipment for customer pickup
• Grease, clean, and perform basic upkeep on machinery
• Power wash equipment returning to the yard
• Assist mechanics with preventative maintenance
• Load and unload equipment for customers and drivers

• Experience in general labor or yard labor
• Ability to operate common yard equipment
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools
• Strong communication skills when interacting with customers
• Valid driver’s license
• Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn

• 1–2+ years in construction, equipment yard, or similar environment
• Sit‑down forklift experience
• Familiarity with Excavators or Skidsteers

• Active indoor/outdoor yard setting
• Team of ~10 supportive coworkers
• Steady schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm
• Steel‑toed boots required; company provides PPE (vests, hard hats, etc.)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, VA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Chesapeake,VA.
