About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President of Legal and Compliance to spearhead its U.S. legal, regulatory, and compliance strategy. The successful candidate will be the senior legal and compliance leader in the U.S., with a primary focus on minimizing regulatory, legal, and reputational risk while fostering business growth. This pivotal role involves leading the U.S. compliance strategy across federal and state regulations, establishing and overseeing compliance policies and procedures, and advising executive leadership on a range of legal and compliance matters. The VP will also be responsible for operational compliance, corporate legal issues, regulatory oversight, and team leadership. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory leadership within relevant industries, with a strong working knowledge of U.S. debt collection laws and regulations. The role requires experience in managing compliance programs, audits, and complaints, as well as a proven track record of advising senior leadership and partnering with cross-functional executives. The ideal candidate will have a background in law, business, or finance, and possess excellent judgment, organizational skills, and stakeholder communication abilities. Responsibilities also include managing and auditing external law firms, vendors, and service providers, and driving continuous improvement across compliance frameworks and governance practices.
