Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead field and project execution across the company's construction portfolio. This role oversees project managers, superintendents, and field operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget, while driving consistency in processes, quality standards, and subcontractor performance company-wide. The Director of Operations works directly with executive leadership to set operational strategy, manage risk, and support business development, and serves as an escalation point for owners, architects, and key stakeholders on active projects. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience, deep construction operations knowledge, and a track record of successfully running multiple concurrent projects at scale.

Responsibilities:

·        Oversee day-to-day field operations across all active projects, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards

·        Lead, mentor, and manage project managers and superintendents; build organizational bench strength

·        Review project schedules, cost reports, and change order activity; identify and mitigate risk before it impacts profitability

·        Standardize operational processes, safety programs, and field reporting across the project portfolio

·        Serve as primary point of escalation for owners, architects, and subcontractors on operational issues

·        Partner with executive leadership on staffing, resource allocation, and business development

·        Ensure compliance with safety regulations, contract requirements, and company policy across all job sites

·        Support pre-construction and estimating teams with constructability and operational input

Requirements :

·        Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred)

·        Minimum of 10–15 years' experience in construction operations, with progressive leadership responsibility overseeing multiple projects or a project management team

·        Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and best practices across commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects

·        Proven track record managing project schedules, budgets, and subcontractor performance at scale

·        Proficiency in project management/scheduling software and Microsoft Excel

·        Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills across owners, subs, and internal teams

·        Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Experience in Hawaii construction market, including LIHTC/affordable housing, government, or private sector projects

·        Familiarity with CPM scheduling, cost reporting systems, and safety compliance programs (HiOSH/OSHA)

·        General Contractor license (Hawaii) a plus
