Job DescriptionThe Medical Nutrition Spc - Remote is responsible for all aspects of enteral nutrition care for the home tube fed patient and other medical nutrition related activities.JOB FUNCTIONSRecognizes and respects patient rights during the provision of care or services and conducting business relationships with patients and the public in an ethical mannerConducts nutritional assessments by reviewing medical records, physician orders, and laboratory resultsProvides nutrition education and counseling via phone when applicableCollaborates remotely with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other healthcare professionalsEnsures compliance with payer, Medicare/Medicaid, and contract requirementsParticipates in on-going education, including in-services, training, and other activities to maintain and improve individual competenceObtains, utilizes, and updates patient information in a confidential and secure manner for utilization in patient care applicationsVerifies enteral and oral nutrition orders for accuracy and appropriatenessMaintains productivity standards while meeting documentation quality expectationsCollaborates with nutritional vendorsCoordinates with referral sources to obtain missing clinical documentationSupports customer service representatives with clinical questions related to enteral nutritionResponsible for On-call holiday rotationsJob RequirementsEducationBachelor of Science in Nutrition and/or Dietetics from an accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics, RequiredWork ExperienceOne or more years of RD/RDN experience, PreferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilitiesread and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualscalculate figures and amounts such as commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumesolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsinterpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formword processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail communicationsLicenses and CertificationsRegistered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD or RDN), RequiredLicensed Dietitian for the geographical area where manages patients (LD or LDN), RequiredLincare offers employees a variety of competitive benefits that include ongoing training and advancement opportunities.
