We provide a unique opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary office, connecting our architects and engineers from all over the World.The Los Angeles, CA office has an opening for an Architect/Designer for our Civic Architecture studio. The Architect/Designer role involves both client-facing and team-facing responsibilities and has tremendous growth potential.Your Key ResponsibilitiesAssists in the planning, organization, and directing of the work throughout the life cycle of the project.Engages in the development of a design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.Utilizes BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.Participates in design critiques and pin-ups.Interprets and applies building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies.Prepares and revises documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections and details.Participates in bidding and negotiation phase and prepare addenda.Reviews shop drawings and submittals, responds to RFIs, prepares site observation reports and other contract administration tasks.Leads project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner, contractor, and sub-contractors.Participates in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and basic cost estimating.Assists in the preparation of the project specifications. Coordination of specs with construction documents.Participates in constructability review.Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects.Prepares and ensures that work conforms to project budget, schedule, and overall work planning.Your Capabilities and CredentialsExperience with multiple project sizes, with a concentration in large and complex projects;Skilled in architecture and detailing as well as proficient in construction administrative processes;Proven effectiveness coordinating with contractors, architectural teams, and consultants;Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;Requires understanding of project software: Revit, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.Successful at leading and organizing a team of multiple disciplines and consultants;Confident with public speaking and networking;Excellent writing skills;Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills;Detail oriented and organized with proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously;Available for occasional travel within the US.Education and ExperienceA minimum of 3 years of professional experience preferably in complex civic projects.Degree in architecture from an accredited university.Architectural license in California or ability to attain licensure within one year is preferred.DBIA certification is preferred.Must have valid driver's license and clean MVR.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.About StantecStantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave.
