Job Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support the development, planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for precision aerospace components. This role is responsible for establishing manufacturing methods, supporting production operations, coordinating internal and external processing activities, and ensuring compliance with customer requirements and aerospace quality standards.
The Manufacturing Process Engineer serves as a key link between Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and outside suppliers to improve process performance, optimize manufacturing flow, and support operational objectives related to quality, delivery, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for precision aerospace components.
• Establish manufacturing methods, process flows, routings, and production requirements.
• Support production operations through troubleshooting, process improvement, and technical guidance.
• Coordinate internal manufacturing activities and external processing requirements.
• Evaluate and optimize manufacturing flow, production sequencing, and process efficiency.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to support customer and operational requirements.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, and technical requirements.
• Support process validation, manufacturing readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Investigate manufacturing challenges and develop practical corrective actions.
• Coordinate activities with outside vendors, suppliers, and special process providers.
• Support quality, delivery, cost, and customer satisfaction objectives.
• Maintain process documentation and manufacturing records as required.

Required Qualifications

• Experience supporting manufacturing engineering or process engineering activities within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing flow, process development, and production sequencing.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, customer specifications, and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of machining operations and manufacturing processes.
• Experience supporting production operations and manufacturing problem resolution.
• Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Strong communication, organization, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to balance day-to-day production support with longer-term process improvement initiatives.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment and supporting shop-floor operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting aerospace components, flight-critical hardware, or other highly regulated products.
• Experience processing manufactured products from raw material through final production.
• Familiarity with Siemens NX, Mastercam, or similar CAD/CAM software.
• Experience coordinating machining, heat treat, coatings, non-destructive testing (NDT), finishing operations, or comparable manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality systems including AS9100, ISO 9001, and NADCAP requirements.
• Experience supporting external processing vendors and special process suppliers.
• Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, process improvement, or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
• Experience supporting cross-functional manufacturing teams focused on quality, delivery, and operational excellence.

Work Environment

This position operates within a collaborative aerospace manufacturing environment and involves regular interaction with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
The role includes both office-based engineering responsibilities and direct support of manufacturing operations. Success in this position requires strong collaboration, technical problem-solving, and the ability to support both immediate production needs and long-term process improvements.

This is a Permanent position based out of Manchester, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $87000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
