Job Description:Position Summary: The Staff Mechanical Engineer supports new product development and sustaining engineering initiatives as a key R&D contributor. The position leads complex projects, drives design improvements, and ensures product performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Responsibilities include applying design control processes, providing technical support, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role collaborates cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and other teams, participates in continuous improvement efforts, and mentors junior engineers. Ideal candidates bring strong project management experience, expertise in CAD and electro-mechanical design, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environmentEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Support new product development projects as an R&D Core Team Member. Provide Project Management support as required.Apply understanding of design control process to evaluate / challenge project teams as an independent reviewer.Lead sustaining projects by identifying opportunities for design enhancements and implementing changes to optimize product functionality and manufacturability.Provide technical support for the current product line, addressing issues and implementing solutions to improve performance and reliability.Maintain detailed documentation of design changes, test results, and product specifications.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer support, to ensure seamless product sustainment.Ensure all product modifications comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct testing and validation of design changes to ensure they meet performance and safety criteria.Maintains an understanding of all current manufacturing processes.Actively participates in continuous improvement activities including but not limited to Kaizen and 5S events, Problem Solving Process, Value Stream Mapping, and Transaction Process Improvement. Effectively collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives. Adheres to all company policies and procedures including safety and quality.
