ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize is currently hiring for a Tire Specialist at our Aggregates and Ready-Mix operation in Bellingham, WA. The Tire Specialist is responsible for assessing tread levels and valve quality on tires, checking wear patterns to determine how much life is left in the tire before it needs replacement, ensuring tires are properly inflated at the correct, recommended psi and changing tires on the fleet.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

• Inspects and assesses tire tread levels, wear patterns, valve quality, and overall health of tires on commercial dump trucks, ready-mix trucks and white fleet trucks.
• Performs all related maintenance and upkeep of tires.
• Installs new tires.
• Conducts inventory and maintains equipment.
• Observes safety regulations and established operational procedures at all times.
• Completes paperwork, record keeping, as required.
• Assists in maintaining housekeeping standards
• Promptly reports unusual circumstances, problems or difficulties to the supervisor.
• Helps out in the diesel maintenance shop as needed and during down time.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School diploma/GED
Required Work Experience: Proven work experience as a tire specialist in a Commercial Truck Shop. Knowledge of tire patterns and material composition
Additional Requirements:

• Good communication skills and attention to detail
• Able to lift tires ranging from 20 to 100 lbs, and maneuver tires in excess of 100 lbs
• Able to operate yard tractor, forklift and bobcat
• Able to perform heavy lifting/physically demanding work for prolonged periods of time in extremes of climate/temperature
• Ability to work in a crouched or standing position for extended periods
• Able to climb stairs and ladders, work on catwalks or other unusual work areas.
• Commitment to the highest standards of safe work habits
• Ability to work overtime and some Saturdays
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
