Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.What are we looking for?The CWI is responsible for employing their knowledge and training of welding processes, test methods, discontinuities, materials, qualifications, and standards to ensure that weldments and weld-related activities comply with all applicable quality and safety criteria.Salary & Benefits InformationIndividual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skillset, experience, qualifications, and other job-related duties.In addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.What you'll do:Ensure compliance with safety and environment guidelines, policies, and regulationsTesting and inspection of structural steel during erection on general building and pipeline sites, as well as occasional plant inspectionsInspect general construction and structural steel erection for buildingsPerform visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobsInspect welding jobs for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut etc.Record results of tests and welding inspectionsAble to issue and follow up on non-conformances until the close outPlans and conducts the analysis, inspection, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or componentReviews all welded products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept or reject the productDocuments data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and proceduresCommunicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to managementInspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specificationsMeasure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometersMay also, operates testing equipment and conducts testing, (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provides assessment of data through reportingOperates a calculator to calculate mathematical test resultsMust be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at workMinimum Requirements & Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMust have AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification with D1.1 experienceMinimum of 4 years of relevant experience requiredAbility to read blueprints and understand, and interpret tolerancesComputer Skills: Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applicationsMust be able to receive, understand, and execute written and verbal directionsAbility to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communicationMust be able to work well independently and with othersMust be able to periodically work off shifts and overtimeMust be able to test concrete and compactionValid Driver's License and reliable driving record (required)Preferred Requirements and Qualifications:Technical Degree in Welding is preferredConstruction materials testing experience is preferredIntertek: Total Quality.
