CNC Machinist

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills or lathes for short runs, typically no more than 25 parts. The ideal candidate will read blueprints to determine part specifications and machine operation requirements, change tools, make minor adjustments to programs, and inspect products using micrometers, calipers, and other gauges. The position also involves performing preventative maintenance on machinery and working in CNC cells of 2-4 machines, setting up and operating all machines, including Dousan, Haas, Cincinnati, and Mazak.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC mills or lathes for short runs.
  • Read blueprints to determine part specifications and machine operation requirements.
  • Change tools and make minor adjustments to programs as needed.
  • Inspect products using micrometers, calipers, and other gauges.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery.
  • Work in CNC cells of 2-4 machines, setting up and operating all machines.
Essential Skills
  • 2+ years of CNC setup experience, independently performing setups (4+ per week).
  • Experience performing multiple setups per day.
  • 2 years of blueprint reading experience.
  • 2 years of experience with micrometers and calipers.
  • 1 year of experience changing tools.
  • Familiarity with G&M Code, Lathe, Mill, and CNC programming.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Fanuc controls is a plus.
  • Programming experience is advantageous.

Work Environment

Work in a machine and assembly shop with 250 employees in the U.S., primarily located in Racine. We also have a small plant in TX and 350 employees outside of the U.S. Our company produces products for oil and gas, agriculture, industrial, marine, and hybrid customers. Openings are available on the 1st shift (7:00 am - 3:00 pm) and 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm), with a 10% shift premium for the 2nd shift. Training will take place on the 1st shift for 1-3 months before moving to the 2nd shift, with the shift premium applicable during training.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
