Med Surg/Telemetry/Stepdown RN

Role: Provides age-specific direct patient care using the nursing process and specialty standards
Settings: Med Surg, Telemetry, Stepdown/PCU, Observation, Ortho, Pediatrics, Critical Care, and Critical Access Hospital units
Requirements: ACLS, BLS, PALS or ENPC, and de-escalation training
Compliance: Certifications must be active before the contract starts, or courses must be scheduled by clinical orientation
Leadership: Delegates tasks and supervises appropriate members of the patient care team
Skills: Patient assessment, care planning, implementation, evaluation, communication, and safe interdisciplinary care
