Performance & Data Optimization Engineer

**FULLY REMOTE**
ScolerTec is seeking multiple Performance & Data Optimization Engineers to support a large-scale cloud data modernization program. This role focuses on optimizing cloud data-platform performance, database and SQL efficiency, workload scalability, reliability, observability, and cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Tune SQL, databases, ETL/ELT pipelines, data models, and cloud data workloads.
- Optimize query execution, indexing, partitioning, caching, and clustering.
- Diagnose CPU, memory, disk, network, I/O, concurrency, and pipeline bottlenecks.
- Establish performance baselines, SLAs, dashboards, monitoring, and alerts.
- Perform workload analysis, capacity planning, scaling, and cost optimization.
- Support AWS infrastructure and modern data platforms.
- Implement Terraform/IaC and CI/CD automation.
- Support DevSecOps, secrets management, security scanning, HA/DR, and automated failover.
- Perform log/metric analysis and full-stack troubleshooting.
- Partner with DBAs, platform engineers, architects, and data engineers.
Qualifications
- 5+ years systems/cloud/performance engineering.
- Strong AWS experience.
- Strong SQL and database performance tuning.
- Query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and execution-plan analysis.
- Terraform/CloudFormation or comparable IaC.
- CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, or similar.
- Python/Bash/PowerShell.
- CI/CD, DevSecOps, containers.
- Experience with Databricks, Redshift, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, or similar preferred.
