About the Position

Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Ultrasound Tech - General Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent relevant experience License: Requires valid state license Certifications: ARDMS certification upon hire; BLS certification upon hire Must-Have: Certification in at least two of the following: Abdomen, Breast, Fetal Echocardiography, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatric Sonography, Registered Vascular Technician Description: Competently performs routine and specialized sonography procedures of moderate complexity. Produces quality images for physicians and other healthcare providers for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease. Works independently, exercising sound judgment, and executing developed clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures and situations. Delivers accurate results in a timely manner. Gains confidence and cooperation from patients, family/support groups, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment and effective communication. Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety. May be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orienting other staff. Graduation from an accredited formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or possession of ARDMS certification is required. Possesses intermediate knowledge of diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, views, and equipment. Has experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies. Proficient in performing sonographic examinations with a solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. Able to recognize, prioritize, and communicate suspicious or abnormal results. Possesses written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences. Demonstrates well-developed time management and organizational skills. Capable of prioritizing assignments and working within standardized operating procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Has working knowledge of computer applications and related information systems. Able to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures. Can work independently and as part of a team, accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions. Identifies, evaluates, and resolves standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions. Ensures the privacy of each patient’s protected health information. Builds collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental objectives.
