Raceland, United States | Posted on 06/13/2026 Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Raceland, Louisiana Facility: Ochsner St. Anne Hospital Health System: SCP Health - Locums Coverage Period: Aug 03, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: 24-hour Shifts Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 52 patients per day (19,000 annual ED visits) Case Mix: Consistent with EM procedures FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 8 ED beds (6 main, 2 fast track) EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: Backup from multiple specialties including cardiology, urology, OB/GYN, and general surgery Support Staff Available: NP/PA coverage (10 hours daily), RNs, and ancillary staff JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine Licenses: Active unrestricted LA Medical License; DEA with LA address; LA Controlled Substance; Supervising Physician License DEA / CDS: Active DEA and LA Controlled Substance required Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS, BLS (PALS required only if not BC in EM or EM trained) Experience: Residency trained in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine; new graduates accepted Other Qualifications: Case logs for past 2 years; CME records for past 2 years including 10 hours Trauma/Stroke annually; Must meet supervising physician requirements for NP/PA oversight; Completion of sedation modules during onboarding DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide 24-hour physician coverage for the Emergency Department Supervise NP/PA staff providing 10-hour daily coverage Manage an approximate daily volume of 52 patients Perform standard emergency medicine procedures and coordinate with on-call specialists Complete required sedation training modules and participate in quality programs #J-18808-Ljbffr
