Overview Position: Pulmonary Registered Nurse (RN) – Full time, First Shift (Days – Less than 12 hours per shift). Hours per week: 40. Location: United States of America. Employment Type: Non‑Exempt. Responsibilities Provide patient and family centered care, participating in the interprofessional team. Oversee daily operations of the pulmonary/sleep clinic, delegating tasks to team members. Conduct patient assessment and triage, maintain accurate documentation, prepare patient charts. Room patients, obtain vital signs, report concerns or observations to providers. Coordinate tests and services, assist physicians with procedures, perform in‑office testing. Perform procedures and testing under indirect physician supervision when required. Communicate effectively with patients, families and staff using verbal, non‑verbal and written methods. Administer medications, infusions, and treatments according to nursing standards. Develop and implement patient care plans, prioritize interventions, and evaluate outcomes. Prepare equipment, aid providers during treatment, examinations and testing. Observe, record and report patients’ responses to drugs and treatments. Document patient and departmental records promptly and accurately. Evaluate effectiveness of care processes and participate in quality improvement activities. Assist with patient education and counsel regarding medications and treatment instructions. Delegate tasks to the health‑care team in accordance with the Kansas State Nurse Practice Act. Adher to staffing and scheduling practices; meet all policies and mandatory training. Qualifications Education • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Preference for experience in a clinic setting. Experience • Prior clinical experience in a pulmonary or sleep care setting (preferred). Skills and Abilities • Demonstrated awareness of patient rights, safety, legal and psychological concerns. • Competency in selected psychomotor skills and mathematical calculations for medication dosing and equipment calibration. • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal, non‑verbal, and written forms. Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse – KSBN (or equivalent multistate license with practice in Kansas). Basic Life Support – BLS (required). RQI, CPR or ACLS certifications as required, to be obtained within 90 days of hire. Required for All Jobs Complies with all policies, standards, mandatory training and requirements of Stormont Vail Health; performs other duties as assigned. Physical Demands Occasional carrying, lifting up to 50 lbs; frequent walking, sitting, and standing. Occasional exposure to chemical, dust, electrical, infectious diseases, and needle stick injuries. Requires fine and gross motor coordination, hearing, and visual acuity.
