Purchasing Specialist

Purchasing Assistant – Responsibilities Confirm purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner. Alert the buyer of any discrepancies, item or pricing changes, and delivery changes. Communicate item or pricing changes to sales and engineering. Monitor demand and material usage to create purchase orders. Generate requests for quotes from vendors and follow up. Follow up on all purchase orders ensuring accurate delivery and cost. Maintain and update active purchase orders and expedite when necessary. Assist engineering with bill of material review, manual generation, and item creation. Respond to visitor inquiries, operate the switchboard, and route calls. Prepare correspondence, letters, memos, reports, and perform additional duties as directed. Job Requirements / Qualifications 6+ months of purchasing experience preferred (manufacturing environment preferred). High School diploma or GED required. Good working knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Ability to operate standard office machines. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel). Good interpersonal skills with courteous, efficient telephone manner. Pleasant reception of visitors and prompt routing of calls.
