Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Medical Surgical stroke stepdown unit, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes. Administer treatments, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with healthcare teams to support recovery and stability.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor vital signs, neurological status, and lab results regularly.
• Document patient progress and interventions accurately in the EMR.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families on condition management and post-discharge instructions.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active NY Registered Nurse license.
• Possess 2+ years of Medical Surgical experience, including stroke stepdown.
• Demonstrate current BLS and NIHSS certifications; NIHSS can be obtained prior to start.
• Exhibit proficiency with Epic EMR and use of specialty equipment such as IV pumps and feeding tubes.
• Have current drivers' license matching your address and travel experience documentation.
• Be able to work floating shifts across units and communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
