SCOPE: In this role, you will assist teachers by providing classroom support in the Early Learning Center program environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist staff with both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy. Manage children’s activities and projects as needed. Maintain open communication with coworkers. Maintain confidentiality. Report any suspected abuse to supervisor. Help maintain a safe and healthy environment; administer first aid in a timely manner when needed. Attend inservice and staff meetings when necessary. Keep all appropriate records such as attendance and time sheets. Meet all applicable licensing regulations. QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED) High school diploma or GED One year work or volunteer work in a food service operation Experience working with young children Ability to adhere to safety practices and procedures as required by state and federal laws Ability to perform the tasks and functions as required by the job including implementing age appropriate programs and activities and provide positive reinforcement to children Ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of people

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSES

Prior to First Day of Employment: TB screening and MMR Documentation Department of Child, Youth, and Family Services Portable Background Check MERIT Registration and obtain a STARS ID. Food and Beverage Handler’s Permit Required within 45 days of hire: First aid and CPR card Active Supervision/Safe Arrival and Departure Child Guidance and Support Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect Standards of Conduct Universal Precautions/Blood Borne Pathogens PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position will require extended standing or physical activity.
