North Elementary Assistant Principal Omak School District 19 Administrative - Omak, Washington Job ID: 5725081 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: May 18, 2026 7:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Jul 1, 2026 Job Summary The primary purpose of this position is to assist the building principal in providing instructional leadership by establishing, promoting, and leading efforts that align with the District’s strategic plan and instructional framework. The assistant principal will foster an environment characterized by high expectations, data‑driven decision making, and continuous improvement. Under the direction of the building principal, the assistant principal is responsible for leading, supporting, evaluating, and assisting in the supervision of building staff in the daily operation of the assigned school. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide leadership, consistency and follow-through in all aspects of student supervision, attendance and discipline Share in supervision and leadership to create a safe and supportive school environment conducive to teaching and learning which recognizes the needs and concerns of staff, students, and parents Work with students from a variety of backgrounds and cultures with diverse interests, abilities and skills Work with principal to develop appropriate instructional programs, options and interventions to ensure the success of all students Work collaboratively with principal, staff, students, and parents in making appropriate school-based decisions, using and promoting effective communication and problem solving techniques Administer school district policies, procedures, agreements and state and federal laws Assist in the fiscal operation of the school Supervise co‑curricular and extra‑curricular programs as part of the administrative team Assist with student leadership programs and activities Evaluate assigned certificated and classified staff Promote Omak School District through public relations and community involvement Remain current regarding research, law and best practices in education Be visible and involved in all aspects of the school/community Understand the use of technology and how it can be utilized to enhance teaching and learning Participate actively as a member of the district’s leadership team May be responsible for district-wide programs or other assignments as directed by the principal Preferred Experience and Qualifications Valid Washington State Principal and Teaching Certificate Three or more years of elementary teaching and/or administrative experience. Willingness and flexibility to be present at a wide variety of school events and activities throughout the year. Demonstrate ability to provide effective discipline within a restorative framework Ability to set priorities, make difficult decisions and follow through Demonstrate ability to provide effective communication with all stakeholders Exemplify professionalism, integrity, and organization Ability to foster relationships with students, staff, and parents based on a high degree of trust, collaboration, and respect Model integrity and ethical behavior Physical Demands The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: Significant hand and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard. Generally this job requires 50% sitting, 40% walking, and 10% standing. Surrounded by some noise and disruptive sounds. Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 25 pounds.
