Job Summary

Our Client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst 4 to support enterprise IT software and application development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience gathering business requirements, facilitating stakeholder collaboration, documenting business processes, and supporting Agile and Waterfall software development projects.

This role requires a strong Business Analyst with excellent analytical, communication, and technical skills who can bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, developers, QA teams, and business users throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements.

Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions.

Analyze complex business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Translate business needs into clear, detailed functional requirements and user stories.

Create and maintain Product Backlogs, Epics, Features, User Stories, Tasks, Test Plans, and Test Cases using Azure DevOps (TFS).

Develop business process documentation, workflow diagrams, Swim Lane diagrams, and Data Flow Diagrams.

Create wireframes, mockups, and process visualizations using Microsoft Visio.

Collaborate with development teams throughout Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, and Waterfall project lifecycles.

Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Prepare functional specifications and support technical design discussions.

Assist with System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and validation activities.

Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases, and coordinate testing efforts.

Support system implementation, user training, and change management activities.

Assist with user adoption during new system and process rollouts.

Deliver project presentations, status updates, and business documentation to leadership and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of Business Analyst experience supporting enterprise IT software/application development projects.

Minimum 5 years of experience working in Agile, Scrum, Scaled Agile (SAFe), Kanban, and Waterfall environments.

Strong experience gathering and documenting functional and non-functional requirements.

Experience translating business requirements into application requirements and user stories.

Experience managing Product Backlogs, Sprint Backlogs, Epics, Features, Tasks, and User Stories using Azure DevOps (TFS).

Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Experience documenting business processes, workflows, and system processes.

Experience creating Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Cases, and supporting test execution.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Experience facilitating stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements sessions.

Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Experience with Business Process Modeling using Swim Lane Diagrams and Flow Charts.

Experience supporting System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Strong understanding of multi-tier enterprise applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior State of Virginia Business Analyst experience.

Experience supporting enterprise software implementation projects.

Experience with Oracle applications and enterprise systems.

Experience working with APIs and system integrations.

Experience supporting organizational change management and user adoption initiatives.

Experience creating wireframes and business process visualizations.
