We are seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team in Glen Allen, VA on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, knife handling, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment. Responsibilities include preparing ingredients, following recipes, and ensuring food safety standards. Strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and measure ingredients for recipes
- Chop and slice vegetables, fruits, and meats
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist with inventory and stocking supplies
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Prep Cook or similar role
- Proficient in knife handling and kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
