Health Care and Criminal Defense Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks an associate to join its criminal defense and government investigations group in Boston, MA. The role focuses on defending health care providers in state and federal criminal proceedings, disciplinary proceedings, and audits. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in health care law, as a trial prosecutor, or as a criminal defense attorney, with a commitment to zealous advocacy. Duties Defend health care providers in criminal and disciplinary proceedings. Handle audits and provide legal advice on billing matters. Engage in significant client contact and manage a varied caseload. Participate in pro bono and public interest work. Requirements 3-6 years of experience in criminal defense, prosecution, or administrative hearings. Excellent writing, research, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Outstanding academic credentials. Admitted to practice in Massachusetts. Federal Court experience is a plus. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts. Skills Experience with Anti-Kickback Laws, False Claims Act, and Stark Law. Familiarity with HIPAA and other privacy laws.
