Title : Senior Manager, Technical Accounting Company : Innovative Biotechnology Organization
Compensation : $150-175k base salary + bonus + equity + comprehensive benefits
An innovative biotechnology company is seeking a Senior Manager of Technical Accounting to join its finance organization. This is a high visibility opportunity for an accounting professional with a strong technical accounting background who is looking to transition into or continue growing within industry and take on a strategic, impactful role in a collaborative environment.
The company offers exposure to complex accounting matters, executive leadership, and cross functional initiatives supporting the advancement of innovative therapies and scientific technologies.
Lead technical accounting research and prepare accounting position memos related to complex transactions under US GAAP
- Provide guidance on revenue recognition, stock compensation, leases, debt arrangements, acquisitions, and other technical accounting matters
- Support the preparation and review of SEC filings, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and related disclosures
- Partner closely with FP&A, legal, operations, and executive leadership to evaluate accounting implications of strategic initiatives
- Oversee aspects of the monthly and quarterly close process related to technical accounting and financial reporting
- Drive implementation of new accounting standards and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements
- Assist with strengthening internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable financial reporting processes
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and support audit coordination
- Mentor and develop junior accounting team members as the organization continues to grow
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 6+ years of accounting experience with a strong foundation in technical accounting and financial reporting
- Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred, but not required
- Deep understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts
- Experience supporting publicly traded companies and SEC reporting environments preferred
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and evolving environment
