RN - Director - Emergency Department

Position Overview Department : Emergency Department Schedule : Full Time Days Work Location : UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham Benefits for eligible positions include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more What You Will Do Direct development and implementation of emergency services policies, procedures and strategy. Develop departmental goals, plans and standards. Plan, organize and direct all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives. Prepare budgets and ensure compliance with allocated funding. Coordinate and direct internal/external audits. Administer and evaluate all clinical activities including care plan development, service level determination and complaint management. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing for an accredited program OR Associate’s Degree in Nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare related field Master’s degree preferred. 5 years of nursing experience with 2 years leadership experience required; 10 years nursing experience with 5 years leadership experience preferred. Active RN license in the state of Alabama. Additional Preferences No additional preferences.
